With the overall success of the “Greater Than” line, the Nike Zoom GT Cut Academy joined the family earlier this year as a more affordable alternative to their high-performance cousins. In line with that concept, successive colorways have stayed in a conservative lane, a chord struck once again by the Nike Zoom GT Cut Academy “Cool Grey.”
A handful of adjacent neutral shades dress the whole shoe, with the standout pieces coming via a texture contrast on the embroidered Swoosh, and a speckled pattern that graces the midsole. Outside of that, the design keeps things relatively plain, a decision that makes these agreeable with a whole range of on-court fits. While the grey-on-grey layout on display here will always evoke the AJ11 colorway for long-time heads, it’s particularly relevant given the emergence of the Nike LeBron 21 “Cool Grey” set to drop next month.
The Nike Zoom GT Cut Academy “Grey” has already begun cropping up at global retailers, but a stateside drop hasn’t yet been nailed down. Expect a $95 retail price when they do materialize here, something we anticipate in the coming weeks.
For more out of the basketball shoes world, take a look at the Nike Book 1 “Hike” and Nike Book 1 “Haven,” both dropping on April 6th.
