The Deconstructed adidas Rivalry Summer Has Fold-Down Heels

While the adidas Spezial Pre-Spring 24 showcased the Three Stripes’ willingness to refresh old staples, don’t sleep on their ability to bring the same experimental touch in their mainline. A new formulation, the adidas Rivalry Summer, is inspired by “long Mediterranean nights,” a shoe intended to be simultaneously stylish and easy-on.

The general shape of the adidas Rivalry remains intact, the inextricable two-sided sole unit still front and center. However, this is a major curveball when it comes to construction. Single ply leather leaves its shaggy interior exposed throughout the silhouette, poking through at panel edges and entirely visible inside in lieu of a true sockliner. That section highlights this version’s functionality, with promo images showcasing how it smoothly flips down to allow mule-like easy access. Gold branding accents close out the design, creating a luxe atmosphere when combined with the comprehensive “Night Indigo” colorway.

The adidas Rivalry Summer “Night Indigo” is available now via adidas.com for $120. Additional colorways, including an off-white and all-white version are also up on the site. Our links under “Where To Buy” will take you directly to the product page.

Elsewhere for the Three Stripes, the Master Splinter adidas shoes add another step to the continuing TMNT capsule.
