Having spread its influence on a variety of adidas Originals, BAPE now brings its renowned hallmarks to the brand’s skate line with an adidas Lawsuit collaboration.
While the adidas Lawsuit isn’t a new model, this specific fusion clearly pokes fun at BAPE and Nike’s feud over patent rights surrounding the Bapesta. Non-collaborative Lawsuit pairs are available overseas, however, the official press release for the BAPE collab makes no mention of that name, instead adopting the moniker “N BAPE”. See a comparison of the LWST and N BAPE in the first image of the below gallery.
The shoe itself features a chunky build like other skate offerings of the 90s and early 2000s, accomplished through oversized stripes and laces. BAPE makes its influence known through all-over camo on the sock liner, a debossed APE HEAD on the lateral quarter, and BAPE STA logo on the heel. Aesthetically, the shoes share design language with other 90s-bred adidas skate models of the past, most notably the Adimatic and Norton.
Separate “Sand” and “Shadow Green” colorways mark the N BAPE’s first appearance under its new name, joined by a shared embrace of earthy/camo hues in lockstep with BAPE’s well-established ethos. The former delivers a balanced mix of tan, brown, and green suede, while the latter drops tan treatments for a slightly more simplistic look.
Additionally, BAPE just revealed a third colorway in black/gold; this version is exclusive to BAPE locations on April 20th.
Enjoy official images of each pair below and mark your calendars for the N BAPE’s release on April 20th through adidas CONFIRMED, bape.com, and BAPE storefronts.
