Cosmetic upgrades make for a new-look Plus.

The Nike Air Max Plus Utility Is For The Sneakerheads Who Like Hiking But Don’t Actually Go Hiking

The booming popularity of the Air Max Plus doesn’t need to be stated. In fact, it’s influence on design is all over the current product, informing the Air Max Dn to literally appearing on the KD 17. For those who have plenty of Tuned Air in the rotation, but need a bit of variance, Nike introduced the Air Max Plus Utility late last year, although the upgrades appear to be completely cosmetic.

For the most part, this Air Max Plus stays true to the OG design. The exterior cage TPU is now welded seamlessly onto the sport mesh upper, while corded elastic cables provide an additional lockdown for that hiking aesthetic. However, there seems to be no added armoring around the toe, and the traction on the outsole remains as is. Could you go hiking in the Air Max Plus Utility? Probably, but not really recommended for trails beyond relatively flat and un-rocky ground. They’ll look good with your OOTD, though.

With an MSRP of $195, the Air Max Plus Utility in the new Tan/Black is set to hit Nike.com later this Summer 2024 season.
