Russell Westbrook And The Jordan One Take 5 Remember Khelcey Barrs

Sneakers often tell stories that are bigger than footwear, and for Russell Westbrook’s signature Jordan line, the most regularly visited theme pertains to the passing of his childhood friend Khelcey Barrs.

The youth basketball phenom’s death had a profound impact on Westbrook. Over twenty years later, the Clippers guard still wears a bracelet on his shooting wrist with “KB3” in honor of Barrs’ name and jersey number. Naturally, that same memoriam has appeared on a number of Westbrook’s signature shoes, whether it be through his numbered Why Not line or cost-friendly One Take collection.

This latest “Khelcey Barrs” Jordan One Take 5 falls in the latter of those two realms, odeing to the late hooper with “KB3” graphics on the insole and heel under a velcro strap. Both instances feature a splash of pink, matched on the tongue, stitching, and lower eyestay with more soft accents. The rest of the design works in multiple shades of blue across mesh, suede, and leather, complemented by a light seafoam green hue on the lining and midsole.
