The ASICS GT-2160 Switches Up In “Seal Grey”

A sleeker version of the tech runner.

The ASICS GT-2160 Switches Up In “Seal Grey”

With collaborations on the silhouette from Kiko Kostadinov, Wood Wood and Above the Clouds in just the past 6 months, the ASICS GT-2160 is one of the hottest models in the Japanese giant’s catalog. Half a dozen metallic colorways dropped in April, but the latest edition breaks the mold in a matte finished nocturnal arrangment.

Midnight black mesh sets the foundation, met up top by “Seal” leather overlays, halfway between sea green and pure gray. While this edition may not be as in-your-face with the Y2K aspects, they’re still here in some fashion, stripes of chrome breaking through in the midsole and branding at the quarter. With turn-of-the-century footwear now becoming a high-heat proposition, this colorway threads the needle between retro appeal and unabashed “dad shoe” design.

The ASICS GT-2160 “Seal” Grey is expected to hit ASICS.com soon, already having released on the EU site. Anticipate a $120 retail price.
