Leo Baker’s Nike SB Leo React Goes Full “Dark Beetroot”

A premium take on the skater's kicks.

Leo Baker’s Nike SB Leo React Goes Full “Dark Beetroot”

With renewed focus on the skateboarding space ahead of the Paris Olympics, we’ve gotten a host of new Nike SB formulations in recent memory. Chief among them is the Nike SB Leo, Leo Baker’s first ever signature and a part of a new generation of Swoosh skater silhouettes alongside the Nike SB Nyjah 3 and Ishod 2. As Baker’s model continues its first full year in the catalog, it’s rolling out one of its plushest looks yet in a comprehensive “Dark Beetroot” twist.

The plum takeover of the model is notable enough, shifting away from the conservatively clad Nike SB catalog looks the shoe had donned before and heading in a new direction. However, there’s also a number of material changes made to further that purpose. First, the monogram print we’d seen previously on the quarter panel is removed and grafted on the Swoosh & tongue, undeniably bringing a designer sort of atmosphere to those touches. With the upper remodeled fully in the leather, the sock-liner pivots to crushed velvet, painted with a complementary shade of peach. Closing out the design, the vulcanized outsole takes to a speckled pattern, perhaps hinting at a grind sole construction though it’s hard to tell at this stage.

The Nike SB Leo React “Dark Beetroot” is expected to drop for Summer/Fall carrying a $95 price tag. You can also anticipate this pair popping up at local skate shops + retailers. Enjoy official images below to get prepared ahead of the launch.

Elsewhere in the skateboarding world, we got a look at a sample Nike SB Dunk Low Supersonics and the expressively dressed Nike Dunk Low “Biker Tattoos.”
