atmos Teases New Balance 580 “Wood Escape” Collaboration

It’s only been two years since we saw the emergence of the New Balance 580 in North America, already carrying a weighty history from its days as a Japan exclusive model. Serving a dual purpose as a return to the silhouette’s roots and an amplifier of its current run, one of Japan’s premier imprints is bringing its talents into the mix for the atmos New Balance 580 “Wood Escape.”

In the teaser shots, a steely mix of grey, black, brown set up the foundation on the classic mix of suede, leather and mesh. That nocturnal blend opens the door for vibrant aquamarine accents throughout, peeking through on underlying panels on the upper and proudly stamping the medial & lateral “N” branding. With the brand consistently collaborating on NB’s spotlight models over the past few years (2023 brought a New Balance 550, 2022 brought a New Balance 1906R), this could signal an increased level of focus for the 580 moving forward. Regardless of the product strategy at work here, this collaborative effort is sure to command some heavy attention the same way all atmos x New Balance product has so far.

As of writing, a release date for the atmos x New Balance 580 “Wood Escape” hasn’t been revealed. Keep this article and our Sneaker Release Dates page handy for up-to-date info.

Sticking with the Boston brand, the ALD New Balance 1000 was just revealed in official fashion.
