Heavy Detailing Defines The NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Superstar

Heavy neutrals dominate the Tokyo brand's take on the 80s staple.

Heavy Detailing Defines The NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Superstar

It’s clear that the adidas Samba is the clubhouse leader for the Three Stripes at the moment, but its current success hasn’t swayed the German giant away from giving love to its staple silhouettes. The adidas Superstar in particular continues to factor heavily into the brand’s collab slate, a trend that continues with the fresh NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Superstar.

While the Tokyo brand’s collab history is rich, they often slide in the middle of the Three Stripes and a third imprint, the case with three-headed pairs alongside the likes of BAPE, CLOT and Invincible. The lattermost edition is informative here, last years’ Campus collab utilizing the same lightning bolt pattern on the midsole across two colorways.

That section is arguably the centerpiece of this design, additionally painting rippled texture to the classic rubber sole unit. The comprehensive gray makeover for the shoe comes alongside a bevy of co-branding; their name appears on the tongue tag & insole, a Jolly Rodger log hits the heel and the lightning bolt design gives way to embossed “TOKYO” type at the very rear.

The NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Superstar releases June 1st at 10 AM EDT, retailing for $160. Get a closer look via official photos below.

Elsewhere for the Three Stripes, the Yeezy Restock hit CONFIRMED over the weekend, but more product could be on the way in the coming days.
