Updated June 21st, 2024: The raffle for the Action Bronson New Balance 1906R “Medusa Azul” has ended. The raffle was available earlier on EQL, carrying a retail price of $185. Click here to enter. The raffle is set to remain open until 12:01 AM on Saturday, June 22nd. The change up in distribution platforms breaks from the past two releases, each distributed solely through Bronson’s own website.

Updated June 20th, 2024: The final installment in the Action Bronson New Balance 1906R collection lands on June 21st when the “Medusa Azul” sees its public debut. Bronson himself took to Instagram to announce the drop a day ahead of time, presumably exclusive to his website as both the “Rosewater” and “Scorpius” were.

In the span between the 2nd and 3rd pair, the Queens rapper spoke out on Twitter, addressing some controversy surrounding the release of his shoes and promising “proper adjustments” in preparation for the “Medusa Azul” launch. It remains to be seen what that will entail, but keep this page handy as we’ll update this post with all the information you need for drop day.

Updated May 31st, 2024: The Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R “Rosewater” launched on May 31st, 2024 here (now sold out). It’s one of three Action Bronson x 1906R colorways set to drop in Spring/Summer 2024, joined by a blue “Medusa Azul” pair and yellow “Scorpius” colorway that have also been teased heavily on social media in recent months.

The shoe itself is every bit as eccentric as the artist’s lyrics, taken in a diverse and vibrant palette of hot pink, orange, and various shades of blue and green. While most GR colorways opt for leather overlays, Action’s “Rosewater” pair comes with a clear TPU layer over a honeycomb patterned mesh base. In maintaining a clear Y2K aesthetic, however, reflective treatments appear on top in the same pattern traditional overlays would. And naturally, Action Bronson’s pseudonym “BALKAVA” makes several cameos throughout; it hits the tongue, insoles, and perhaps most notably, a co-branded orange dust bag that comes with the shoes.

In reflecting on the project, Action Bronson states: “To have water that’s been extracted from a rose sprayed all over your face and your body… It’s truly one of the most decadent and luxurious things that you could have done to yourself in life. It’s the preservation of youth. It’s known to be in my favorite desserts. It’s something that lives within me. It’s that little droplet on the edge of the petal that seems like it’s just stuck there forever, and then gently falls upon you… splash. I really don’t know what else to say. These are all singular pieces of my soul and my art. Enjoy it.”
