The following was published on June 3rd, 2024:

With 2024 being an Olympic year, Nike has focused its broad efforts to bringing new and classic product to light in celebration of the global games. For the upcoming events in Paris, a “Safari” theme has been the approach, bringing that unique style across a number of performance and lifestyle footwear, but Nike’s also re-issuing all-time icons to further energize the massive event.

We already know the Olympic Uptempos are dropping later this year, but Nike’s also applying that iconic navy, white, and red worn by Scottie Pippen to the slip-on Slide model. USA blue is utilizes as the abse, while the oversized “AIR” letter patches are stitched onto both the lateral and medial sides in white, bleeding down into the Air-cushioned midsole. A minute touch of red appears via the Nike Swoosh on the in-step.

These are a near-perfect transfer of that classic look, but we do have to point out that Scottie’ number 8 jersey is nowhere to be found on the Slides. They are, of course, located on the heel of the parent basketball model, representing the number he wore wit the 1996 Olympic Team

This latest Uptempo Slide is set to drop this Summer/Fall 2024 season for $85 on Nike.com and other retailers, so stay tuned for updates.
