Andrew Rizzo The ASICS GEL-NYC has already written an impressive catalog for such a new silhouette; collaborations and mainline pairs have been abundant in quantity and very well received, demonstrating great range for a shoe that’s still introducing itself to a broad segment of consumers. In lieu of flashy metallic treatments prevalent on several colorways, as well as nearly all tech-runners of its kind, the latest ASICS GEL-NYC goes in a different direction with an earthy palette.
Suede “Fjord Grey” overlays appear over “Cold Moss” panels at the base, just above a light blue layer of wide mesh. The off-white detailing on the quarter and eyestays ties in with the midsole underfoot, that structure coming decorated by orange GEL capsules in yet another color addition. Otherwise, a khaki-colored sock liner and outsole frame the design.
