While they’re still enjoying the widespread success of models like the New Balance 550, New Balance 9060 and New Balance 1906R, the Boston brand has had its eyes on new markets in 2024. The centerpiece of their new offerings remains the New Balance 1000, an embrace of 2000s running shoes from a chunkier direction. As the Aime Leon Dore New Balance 1000 continues a collab-heavy rollout, we’re getting a fresh look at some of the GR styles on the slate, continuing with the New Balance 1000 “Grey/Black.”
A full embrace of the tonal, this shoe is draped essentially from heel to toe in elephant grey. It presents a starkly similar look to that aforementioned ALD New Balance collab, and maybe that’s intention, bringing a reminiscent style to the public for those who strike out on that more limited edition. This pair returns to the “default” material arrangement we’ve seen so far, comprised of ever-reliable leather and mesh. Embroidered branding at the heel in jet black mirrors the same hue on the outsole, breaking up the otherwise monochromatic profile and proudly rounding out a trademark grey-heavy look.
The New Balance 1000 “Grey/Black” is available now via New Balance’s China channels; a US release date is still unclear. Once this pair does materialize, we’re expecting a $150 MSRP. In the meantime, check out the full suite of new looks below.
Elsewhere, the Boston brand embarks on an overseas collab with the Stone Island New Balance 574 Legacy collection, dropping June 14th.
