Nike’s Latest N7 Collection Launches With The Air Force 1 & Air Max 1

Tradition-inspired apparel pieces join the two shoes.

Nike’s Latest N7 Collection Launches With The Air Force 1 & Air Max 1

First launched in 2009, Nike’s N7 program has aimed to commemorate the First Nations experience through two main channels; the N7 fund, directly giving back to communities, and by spotlighting the work of indigenous designers. The yearly footwear & apparel collection was just officially unveiled and publicly released, serving up a slew of apparel looks and colorways for the Air Force 1 and Air Max 1.

The uniting principle across both the AF1 & AM1 is an sunny gradient foundation, the clearest expression of the “powwow season” theme, a guiding light across the full collection. Designer Lauren Thomas refracted her Mi’kmaq heritage into a host of narrative elements on display here, continuing with the visible stitching that nods to moccasin construction and the ribbon laces that mirror traditional ribbon shirts.

Of the two, the Air Force 1 is likely the more conservative application of all those concepts, while the Air Max 1 carries a ton of eye-catching appeal with the translucent blend of sky blue, peach & tangerine on the outsole. Many of the apparel pieces, from the Windrunner jacket, Club shorts and Club Fleece, carry that dual sunset/sunrise tonality, while also relying on an abstract pattern inspired by First Nations stone carved iconography.

The full Nike N7 collection is on offer now; the Air Force 1 retails for $135 while the Air Max 1 retails for $160. Catch product shots of both shoes below and hit the links under “Where To Buy” to grab yours.
