“Racer Blue” Meets An Icy Nike Air Max 90

A wintry mix for this Fall release.

“Racer Blue” Meets An Icy Nike Air Max 90

Those tapped into Nike releases will know that Beaverton has a tendency to roll out takes on the same spotlight shade across multiple models. “Racer Blue” has appeared a few choice times on monochrome Shox R4 and Vomero 5 “Racer Blue” editions, but the Nike Air Max 90 is taking on the hue in more metered fashion.

As promised, the royal shading is only applied on the air bubble and in branding sections on the insole, midsole and tongue. The rest of the composition is carried by staid white & ” Light Smoke Grey,” neither of those monochromatic shades a stranger to the Tinker Hatfield formulation.

It aligns well with recent Air Max 90 colorways that have surfaced, typically opting for slightly altered iterations on the familiar, saving the out-of-the-box looks for siblings like the Air Max Plus, collabs that have graced the Air Max 1 or re-tooled silos like the Air Max 90 Drift. All the same, it remains hard to argue with the timeless style of the AM90 proper, so this pair marks a standout without reinventing the wheel.

As of writing, no concrete release date is attached to the Nike Air Max 90 “Racer Blue.” Expect a Nike.com drop in the short-term future, retailing for $130 when it lands this Fall.
