The following article was published on July 1st, 2024:
The women of Nike SB are firing on all cylinders. Following the release of special-edition sneakers for Rayssa Leal, Di’orr Greenwood, and Sky Brown, Minnesota goofy rider Nicole Hause now stakes claim to her first ever Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration.
Trusted sneaker source @masterchefian provides a detailed look at the shoes, revealing a crisp white/baby blue design with a few compelling design choices. Kicking things off, we see a shrunken Swoosh a la Air Force 1 “Taiwan” taken in a plaid, baby blue pattern, matched in essence by blue sock lining and tongue branding. Adding a bit of skate grunge, the design makes space for a metal chain that runs alongside the curvature of the heel panel, attached at the lateral eyestays and heel. Otherwise, a white leather base and color-absent sole comprise a look that’s both unique and versatile in one stroke.
A scroll through Hause’s Instagram page reveals a fondness for plaid flannels, but as far as other associations go, the baby blue shade takes after her debut project with Sad Eyewear; a pair of “Arctic Blue” sunglasses.
