Donovan Mitchell, Fresh Off Max Extension With Cleveland, Debuts His DON Issue 6 In “Black/White”

Things are turning up Donovan Mitchell. He just secured an extension that’ll pay him $50 million dollars a year on average, and he’s still amid the initial rollout of his adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 silhouette, debuting in earnest on July 5th. After we caught a glimpse of the first few colorways when we spoke to Mitchell, additional pairs down the line are beginning to emerge. The one at hand embraces a “Team Bank” sort of approach, clad in classic black & white.

It’s a dominant formula for basketball shoes everywhere, but the greyscale execution succeeds on the latest Donovan Mitchell silhouette as well. Arguably the centerpiece of this design is the wavy stripe of metallic silver that encircles the league unit and inner bootie, adding some eye-catching reflective flair to a profile that’s otherwise meant to blend in.

However, the futuristic design language of the adidas DON Issue #6 is still on full display, from the carbon fiber shank that sits between the two sections of the misole to the woven upper.

The adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 “Black & White” is set to drop on July 12th, carrying its regular $120 retail price. A red & black colorway is dropping on the same date- take a look at that pair if you’re looking to double up or if this one isn’t entirely your speed.
