Even as sneaker trends rise and fall, the Nike Vapormax line has been metronome-like, managing to carve out a consistent lane with top-of-the-line comfort and some of the most off-kilter design language you’ll find in the Beaverton catalog. Speaking to that enduring appeal, Nike just doubled down on a style from a few years back, re-releasing the Vapormax Plus in “Cool Grey.”

First seen in 2022, the shoe was a sell-out proposition in its original run. Given that success, it’s not hard to see why this pair is getting a retro effort though its debut is still so recent. Additionally, the combination of neutral greyscale hues makes for an all-around timeless look, so circling back to it makes that much more sense.

The two-tone execution here allows for the eccentric-as-ever profile of the Vapormax Plus to speak for itself. On top of the abstract geometry of the sole unit, the reflective synthetic material of the upper makes for undeniably sleek overtones. The synthetic Air Max Plus waves and patent leather toe-cap combine only enhance the techy lean of this shoe’s hardware.
