Updated August 19th, 2024: New in-hand images have just landed of the Air Jordan 1 High “Satin Shadow” as we near its October 5th release date. There aren’t a ton of surprises in terms of layout, but these shots place new emphasis on the embroidered wings logo and the embroidery that outlines the Swoosh throughout. Elsewise, these stick to the same script of the Satin Bred from last year, revitalizing a beloved OG colorway with the premium material.
Catch the full suite of images just below and keep an eye on both our Jordan Release Dates hub and this article for direct pick-up links once this pair arrives.
Original article posted July 10th, 2024: Back in February, we learned that Jordan Brand will continue the satin Air Jordan 1 series with a new “Shadow” edition. Now five months later, official retailer images just landed along with news of an October 5th release date, teeing off anticipation for advocates of the design theme.
Much like the AJ1 Satin Bred from last year, the shoe features almost the exact same color blocking as the original “Shadow” colorway from 1985, only with grey instead of black soles. The toe box, Swoosh, ankle flaps, and heel present in grey, while the rest of the upper appears in black. Such overhauled takes on original Air Jordan 1 colorways tend to irk sneaker purists, but satin pairs most definitely have an audience. Notably, Aleali May’s satin-heavy AJ1 “Shadow” collab from 2017 goes for upwards of $800 on the grey market.
The Air Jordan 1 High “Satin Shadow” drops October 5th, most likely in women’s sizing and for $180 just like the aforementioned “Satin Bred” pair. Scroll through detailed images courtesy of JD Sports below and revisit this page for shopping links upon the drop date.
Steering focus to another black Jordan shoe, check out our first look at the Jordan 3 Black Cement arriving this November.
