EXCLUSIVE: Scarr’s Pizza x Nike Air Force 1 Low Releasing In 2025

Update: DJ Clark Kent, who was involved in the design of the Scarr’s Pizza x Air Force 1, has reached out to Sneaker News informing us that the shoes are not releasing next year. However, reliable sources confirm our original report.

The best pizza in NYC will always be a debate, but only one shop can lay claim on having its own Air Force 1 collaboration. In 2025, Scarr’s Pizza and Nike will be reprising their epic 2019 project for public release for the first time in Summer of next year.

Made exclusively for friends and family of pizzeria owner Scarr Pimental, the Scarr’s Pizza Air Force 1 reached new heights of notoriety when it sold for a massive $121,649 at Sotheby’s auction in 2021. Any way you slice it, that’s far too much for a pair of Air Force 1s, regardless of how well-executed the design is.

In our interview with Scarr’s a few years ago, Pimental revealed the full design behind the shoe. Heavily inspired by the early 2000s era of the Air Force 1, he chose gum soles, double-stacked Swoosh logos and super-soft tumbled leather for the construction. The hits of blue and orange are as NYC as you can get; the official flag of the city appears on the heel, while the old address of the original Scarr’s Pizzeria location appears embroidered on the tongue. Additional phrasing taken from iconic verses appear on the interior side of the ankle. You can see the 2019 pair in detail below.

It’s possible that the Bespoke-level details that made the Scarr’s AF1 such a memorable release will not be included in the 2025 release. It could be a much simpler and pared-down execution with the Scarr’s Pizza logo at the heel considering the address on the tongue no longer exists (Scarr’s moved across the street to 35 Orchard St. in June of 2023). This is a developing story, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for full details.
