Matt Varga Few special editions in the world of basketball shoes raise to the coveted status that EYBL PEs do. With Nike’s Basketball Academy taking place this week, Beaverton organizers have unveiled another standout set of to match the talent on display. The Nike Zoom GT Hustle 3 is next up, revealed in a viridescent edition for the girls’ side of the camp.
As we’re still quite early into the lifespan of the GT Hustle 3, it’s nigh impossible to note how these diverge from the shoes’ “default” look, meaning the finer details on display here stand out on their own merits. The radial knit up top takes on a wavy gradient that calls to mind the Air Max line, while the interior of the Swoosh wears the camouflaged, vine-like embroidery that’s marked each of the Basketball Academy PEs revealed this week. Similarly, the gold wax EYBL stamp stands proud on the tongue.
Rounding things out, curvilinear stripes paint the concave midsole section, adding a true sense of depth that highlights the Hustle 3’s foremost performance features. Broadly speaking, with this naturalistic colorway added to the collection, the theme seemingly centers around the natural beauty of Oregon where this year’s crop of talent has converged, eager to take on knowledge from a host of past & present pros like Jason Kidd, Rasheed Wallace and Myles Turner.
As with the Kobe 8 and Sabrina 2 PEs, these will remain exclusive to attendees. However, the aforementioned detailing makes them intriguing from an outside perspective all the same- check out campaign shots just ahead.
