Salehe Bembury Teases A Purple New Balance 991v2 Collaboration

The footwear extraordinaire continues his torrid pace.

Salehe Bembury simply refuses to slow down. Amid a deluge of images from the giveaway for the unreleased Salehe Bembury New Balance 530, he took to his socials to tease the next edition in his NB history, a shaggy suede spin on the New Balance 991v2.

In typical Salehe fashion, his take on the 991v2 is plenty eccentric, built on a foundation of long-haired purple suede, tinted a bit darker on the mesh base layer. Hits of royal blue, gold and deep green appear throughout the shoe, particularly notable on the tongue takes where the mid-tongue “v2” tag mirrors the co-branded tongue tag up top.

As mentioned towards the top, this New Balance 991v2 adds to a stacked group of upcoming Salehe Bembury releases. We’ve got his New Balance 530, the eventual output of his PUMA deal, several colorways of the Crocs Juniper and a host of additional Pollex family colorways teased over the past few months. Despite the sheer number of shoes he’s got hanging in the balance, it’s hard to imagine any will outpace demand. This 991v2 in particularly seems like a lock to capture the same high-heat energy that his 1906R did towards the top of the year.
