atmos is simply one of the most prolific collaborators on the scene. Seemingly every other week, creative director Hirofumi Kojima blasts out a new sneak peek at what his imprint and a major footwear player are plotting for the months ahead. The latest update actually circles back to a 2023 release, as he shared imagery of a collab Salomon XT-6 set to arrive soon, titled “Concrete Jungle.”
For those unaware, the two brands connected for the “STARS COLLIDE” XT-6 about 16 months before this announcement, ushering in their first collaboration for a night sky-inspired edition of Salomon’s trendy trail runner. With the pair featured here, a monochromatic execution is reprised, but instead of jet black, Y2K-esque chrome is the foremost shade.
Applications of dark grey & splattered black over thin graphic layers allude to the guiding urban theme with this pair, accentuated by off-white TPU running through the midsole. Zooming out, this pair connects well with the dusky applications that atmos has executed heavily over the past year, from shoes like their “Tuxedo” adidas Samba to the “Black in Black” New Balance 550 to their recently unveiled adidas Aruku.
No concrete release date accompanied these “first look” images, but we’ll keep you posted here as they do emerge. More than likely, this shoe will be a Japan-exclusive, distributed through atmos’ channels outside of the States. Check out the shot Kojima shared embedded just below.
