Andrew Rizzo Anyone who’s anyone has owned a pair of all-white Air Force 1s at one point in time. Bruce Kilgore’s classic “Uptown” look has been a pillar of sneaker culture for over four decades, so naturally, fresh pairs that subtly re-work the same versatile aesthetic are always in demand.
The latest addition to Nike’s Holiday 2024 Air Force 1 lineup isn’t monotone, but monochrome, taken with a suede upper and balanced assortment of grey shades. The shoe’s aren’t premium by any official definition, but differ from most other mainline colorways through a variety of touchpoints. Mini Swoosh logos dot the lateral sides, the tongue tag comes crafted out of leather, and “Nike Air” branding is debossed into the backtab, not stitched. Slightly different “Light Smoke Grey” and “Vast Grey” shades balance each other out up top, while underfoot, Nike flips on tradition with a grey midsole and white outsole.
