Hello Kitty Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary On The adidas Gazelle Indoor

2024 marks Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, and Sanrio has predictably pulled out all the stops to shine a light on everyone’s favorite cat-inspired character. On top of a lengthy list of digital activations, including an augmented reality app that allows fans to interact with Hello Kitty, the Japanese brand is also reprising its ongoing partnership with adidas with special anniversary-themed Hello Kitty footwear. Following the release of a Hello Kitty x Sambae earlier this year, the two parties now take aim at the Gazelle Indoor for Holiday 2024.

Much like other Hello Kitty x adidas shoes, the character’s Gazelle Indoor features debossed bowties across the upper and a black Hello Kitty stamp on the lateral heel. Additional touches include a stitched red bowtie on the backtab, red stripes, and black tongue co-branding. Moreover, the insoles feature metallic gold adidas x Hello Kitty logos that speak to the Sanrio character’s 50th anniversary.

Sanrio and adidas haven’t mentioned a solid release date at the time of this writing, but the Hello Kitty x Gazelle Indoor is expected to help cap off the brand’s anniversary festivities during the Holiday 2024 shopping season.
