Another day at the office for New Balance MADE in UK. The across-the-sublabel continues to churn out cleaned-up aesthetics atop premium composition. The latest offering under the umbrella is the New Balance 991v2, enjoying a stellar first year on the shelves and again impressing in “After Midnight / Sepia Tint.”

The navy & off-white combination on tap here should be recognizable for long-time fans of the Boston brand, a frequent execution that’s only surpassed by their trademark “Grey Day” outfits. Accordingly, that steely neutral is applied applied in a heavy dose on the base layer of this shoe, painting the underlying mesh that’s so synonymous with retro runner kicks in general. Though no concrete word from New Balance is available regarding the material choices here, expect pigskin suede and plush leathers, consistent with most/all MADE in UK releases.

Zooming out on the 991v2 model, a three piece collection with Stone Island and upcoming Salehe Bembury collaboration express New Balance’s heavy push for the reupholstered silhouette.
