L’Art de L’automobile’s Nike Air Force 1 Collaboration Is For Friends & Family Only

Following the release of L’Art De L’Automobile’s Salomon capsule back in June, a project some deem worthy of “collaboration of the year” praise, sneakerheads have been left anticipating where Arthur Kar will take his talents next. Images of a L’Art de L’automobile x Nike Air Force 1 made rounds earlier this month, sparking excitement that consumers might be able to get their hands on co-branded footwear in light of the brand’s NOCTA capsule earlier this year. Unfortunately, the L’Art De L’Automobile Instagram account just cleared up that the shoes are for friends and family only and will not release to the public.

In any case, there’s still plenty of headline-worthy intrigue worth shining a light on. L’Art De L’Automobile has crafted not one, but two Air Force 1 colorways; one inspired by the Porsche L’ART 968, Kar’s modern re-imagination of the German coupe, and another in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary. Both pairs make use of “Triple Black” for an aesthetic that’s as evergreen as ever, relying on thoughtful details and branding in lieu of color.

Beginning with the 10th anniversary pair, the shoe stands out by way of an additional, circular carbon fiber patch on the heel, complete with intricately stitched branding and a car graphic. Its counterpart takes an ever more simplistic route, distinguished by green “L’art” backtab text, debossed “968” on the lateral forefoot, and a split-up Porsche L’ART 968 graphic across the insoles.

As mentioned, the L’Art de L’automobile x Air Force 1s are for friends and family only and will not release to the public. However, the development may indicate that the two parties have other projects in tow. For now, enjoy detailed images of both F&F shoes posted by L’Art de L’automobile below.
