Ja Morant Is Finally Ready To Take That Next Step

Ja Morant wants to pick up where he left off two seasons ago. His upward rise went on hiatus due to some hard lessons learned followed by an unfortunate injury, but when the rise is that steep, sometimes the only direction left to go is up. Despite the absence, Morant still holds the mantle as the face of the NBA’s youth movement, tasked with transforming a small-market team into a perennial contender. With a bastion of young fans worldwide and an entire city looking to him on a nightly basis, Ja is more aware of the weight he’s carrying on his back.

The debut of his second signature shoe is a reflection of this renewed outlook. Much of the previous chapter is carried over to the next, with some tweaks and improvements made along the way. The Ja 2 is still engineered to support his bouncy, high-flying acrobatics via the forefoot Zoom Air and sidewall guardrail, but the shoe is engineered to adaptable to games of all types and levels. A newly designed outsole traction, inspired by semitrailer tires Morant used to train with, promises sticky grip for those on-a-dime cuts.

The storytelling aspect is where the Ja 2 gets to shine. In addition to the colors, Nike has targeted the mid-foot panel as a canvas to further express each and every concept. A full assortment of Nike Ja 2 colorways have also been revealed; leading the way is the “Purple Sky” edition as well as four other styles that include the upcoming releases for the Halloween and Christmas occasions. Not pictured is the “Induction” colorway that is expected to launch on September 26th, 2024 on SNKRS.

There’s a lot more to come surrounding the latest Ja Morant shoes, but for now, be sure to check SNKRS for the release of the Nike Ja 2 “Induction” on September 26th, followed by the October 8th release of the Nike Ja 2 “Purple Sky”.
