The Nike Air Max 90 “Hyper Pink” Is Perfect For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Nike Air Max 90 “Hyper Pink” Is Perfect For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, a time to promote preventative care and contribute to efforts geared towards one day eradicating the disease. On top of forming a new partnership with Battle Cancer, Nike is spreading awareness through footwear. While the KD 4 Retro Aunt Pearl delivers obvious symbolism, this new Air Max 90 offers an ambiguous ode through “Hyper Pink” accents.

The backtab, midsole wedge, mudguard window, and lower eyestay all feature the titular hue, aligning with the pink drab folks are encouraged to wear throughout the month. Otherwise, the rest of the shoe comes painted in dark monochrome shades for contrast. The mudguard and midsole stealthen up in black, “Cool Grey” suede dots the quarter, and “Wolf Grey” mesh comprises the base layer. Notably, Nike also brings a synthetic chain-link pattern to the tongue.

Zooming out to discuss the Air Max 90 in general; the Beaverton brand has several standout releases on the horizon. The Air Max 90 Escape is expected to return, and Patta will be taking its “Wave” theme to the silhouette next year. More immediately, there’s a new Skepta-like colorway dropping in mid-October.

The Air Max 90 “Hyper Pink” doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but pairs should arrive via nike.com and retailers in the near future. Expect men’s sizes and a retail price of $130 upon arrival.
