Update: Official images of the Demon Slayer adidas collaboration have surfaced, revealing a third “Tanjiro” colorway on top of the “Rengoku” & “Tengen.” The series protagonist’s checkered jacket imparts its green & black to an additional Rivalry Low. These new shots reveal that each of the pairs sport the respective character’s iconic sword hilts on the tongue tag.

Each of the kicks in the Demon Slayer adidas capsule release on November 1st via Foot Locker, retailing at $110 a pop. As mentioned in our original coverage, don’t be shocked if an early launch takes place at New York Comic Con, taking place from October 17th to the 20th.

Original article published October 14th, 2024:
After taking the anime world by storm a half-decade ago, the end is (unfortunately) in sight for Demon Slayer. A trilogy of movies will wrap the dominant series after the conclusion of its fourth season earlier this year, but we’ve got news to hopefully blunt the impact of the looming finale. Following a Demon Slayer Crocs collection announced around the same time last year, adidas is showing out for 2024, unveiling two colorways of the Rivalry Low centered on two of the show’s most lasting characters.

Two of the Corps’ Hashira past and present take center stage, Rengoku and Tengen each earning respective editions, each earning pairs as a part of this capsule. Beginning with the former, Rengoku’s edition is easier to parse out, with the Flame Hashira’s aspect proudly stamped across the heel counter, his brown robes further draping the heel cup and midsole. However, the standout feature is the heavy application of ember-like gradients on the Three Stripes branding and the toe-box.

Then we jump to the Sound Hashira, reflecting his attire from his time in the Corp. Navy trim at the forefoot and heel lead the design, but gilded branding at the quarter draws the eye most, mirroring Tengen’s arm bangles. As a closing note, his sword hilt is stamped on the tongue tag, though you may have to squint to catch it in these first images. The appearance of both character’s sword hilts may be an indication of feature releases, with a full Hashira pack a possibility down the road.

The Demon Slayer adidas Rivalry Low collection releases on November 1st at Foot Locker, retailing for $110 each and landing in men’s sizing. Though that date is set in stone, don’t be surprised if these pairs follow last year’s Crocs capsule, and an early launch occurs at New York Comic Con. Either way, check out first look images just ahead and stay glued to our Sneaker Release Dates page for further updates.
