Andrew Rizzo New Balance Basketball is on the come-up, with the Boston brand continuing to grow in terms of NBA signees and modern-day performance models. With a new season underway, New Balance is shining a light on its three foremost hoops shoes and the NBA stars that champion them with a “Team Tactical” pack inspired by gaming.
The models in question are the Fresh Foam BB v2, TWO WXY v5, and Hesi Low v2, all of which suit up in battle armor inspired by video game skins. The Fresh Foam BB v2 is by far the most conservative of the bunch, taken in a black-dominant “Nightfrost” colorway with metallic silver branding and a red outsole. Blue digital camo prepares the TWO WXY v5 “Raine” for winter maps, decorated further by golden yellow accents across the quarter and tongue. Capping off the trio, the Hesi Low v2 “Stone” works in desert-like tan digital camo and soft pink treatments underfoot.
In marking the rollout, all three “Team Tactical” colorways will be worn by the athletes that champion each respective model. Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls will sport the Fresh Foam BB v2, Jamal Murray and Dejounte Murray will rock the TWO WXY v5, and 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey will wear the newly-introduced Hesi Low v2.
On top of the footwear being offered, the “Team Tactical” capsule also features apparel including a puffer jacket, sherpa top, basketball shorts, and tees and hoodies.
The New Balance Basketball “Team Tactical” collection, including all three shoes and accompanying apparel, releases via New Balance on November 1st, 2024. The Fresh Foam BB v2 retails for $130, the TWO WXY v5 costs $120, and the Hesi Low v2 commands $110.
