In 2020, Shelby Weaver and Abby Albino set out to do the unprecedented, founding Toronto’s Makeway as North America’s first female-led and female-focused streetwear outpost. In a full circle moment, the streetwear innovators are linking up with Nike for their first collab shoe, the “Party 6000.”
The title stems from Makeway’s events series of the same name, where attendees regularly sport the vintage-inspired model. To again emphasize that inspiration, the typical P-600 branding towards the heel is replaced by that very “Party 6000” moniker. Atop a cream foundation, baby blue and orange notes drift throughout the runner. Though it’s unclear whether it was a marked guiding light, long-time fans of the boutique have noted its alignment with some of Makeway’s collaborative work with the WNBA.
While the shoes are plenty noteworthy and attention-grabbing, there isn’t any energy spared in the peripherals. The box itself paints the store’s interior on its foundation, with cloudy blue skies on its top and paper inserts.
Switching to Beaverton’s end of things, this marks the first collab on the Nike P-6000, largely treated as one of a myriad tech runner options in their catalog before this link-up. It may signal a more significant push behind the silhouette as we look towards 2025, be it more innovation on mainline editions or even additional collaborations coming in the future.
The Nike x Makeway P-6000 releases via Makeway on November 20th and Nike SNKRS on November 22nd, retailing for $110. Get a full scope of this landmark collab via the official images below.
