It’s been just over half a year since the Boston brand brought back the New Balance 1000, its retro effort is succeeding; a healthy dose of collaborations keep up energy around the silhouette while mainline pairs continue to surface.
Next up is a “Magnet” colorway, capitalizing on New Balance’s “Grey Day” trademark (at least in its upper half.) The New Balance 1000’s traditional leather and mesh composition up top is delivered in decidedly nocturnal fare, blending the titular grey with a jet-black foundation and a reflective N logo at the midfoot. Really, the sole is where the most creative license is invoked. Deep “Plum” paints the complete unit, only interrupted by an extra dose of Y2K aesthetics with a chrome interruption at the heel.
The New Balance 1000 “Magnet” is expected to hit NewBalance.com and retail shelves in short order. Anticipate the typical $150 MSRP. Enjoy official retailer images included below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates hub to find out exactly when this pair drops.
