atmos truly loves a glow-in-the-dark sneaker. Across their expansive, brand-diverse catalog, luminescent accents are a mainstay, stretching from link-ups in 2013 to ones that landed just months ago. The Japanese imprint is bringing that motif to the fore once again as the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 crests in popularity, set to usher in the “Yakoutake” colorway in short order.

The fungus species Mycena chlorophos is the guiding light here, a bioluminescent mushroom endemic to Japan. It makes for a more conceptual atmosphere enveloping this pair, the flora providing translucent shade to the shoe’s profile at rest, further developed with a swatch of deep brown running from the midfoot to the collar inspired by soil. Though the radiant details may be the flashier bit for this pair, its regular arrangement is still eminently wearable and on-trend, highlighting atmos’ collaborative Midas touch again.

The draw for the atmos ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 “Yakoutake” is open now, closing on Wednesday, November 13th, before winners are announced on November 14th. The pair retails for ￥26,400 (~ USD 170).
