Updated November 22nd, 2024: After an initial release at ComplexCon, the HIDDEN NY ASICS GEL-Venture 6 Shield “White Wasabi” has been fully unveiled, thanks to previous collaborator @jwstudios. In the gallery recapping all of the HIDDEN x ASICS ventures from the past (including his own), the customs artist shared detailed shots of the two brands’ latest, revealing the gradient treatment on the Tiger Stripes logo and an entirely neutral base outside of it.
Information on a wider release for this pair is still unclear. In the meantime, check out the new images included ahead.
Original article published November 13th, 2024: HIDDEN NY’s ascension from Instagram moodboard to full-on clothing brand will be studied one day. Images of concept collaborations turned into the real thing when HIDDEN linked with Salomon for its first official sneaker project in 2022, and now two years later, the ambiguous New York imprint has also developed a working relationship with ASICS. In the wake of the HIDDEN GEL-NYC from earlier this year, a sneaker of the year candidate by general consensus, HIDDEN is ready to debut its next ASICS collab at ComplexCon in Las Vegas.
The model in question is the GEL-Venture 6 Shield; a trail running shoe touted for “urban explorers” in an embodiment of the ongoing gorpcore trend. The brand teased the collaboration on Instagram back in April 2024, showing only a portion of the shoe while fielding questions about upcoming product. Eyes are first drawn to the quarter overlay, taken in a compelling “Wasabi” teal shade. The rest of the shoe comes in white and silver, with reflective hits dispersed throughout. Of course, official images could reveal additional details when they arrive.

The GEL-Venture 6 Shield isn’t nearly as mainstream as the GEL-NYC, but that’s the point. Off the success of their first effort, the power behind HIDDEN NY x ASICS is likely strong enough to draw eyes to an under-the-radar model, as is often the case when it comes to A-list collaborators.
