Nike Throws The Air Force 1 Low Back To The 2000s In “Green Patent”

Turn-of-the-century design language crops up two decades later.

Nike Throws The Air Force 1 Low Back To The 2000s In “Green Patent”

With Nigo x Nike back in the ether, perhaps it’s no longer hard to envision a world where patent leather Air Force 1s dominated the sneaker scene. Highlighted by pairs like the “Sheed” AF1 collab from 2003, there’s just a nostalgic quality to the reflective material on Bruce Kilgore’s design, an energy Nike aims to tap back into for 2025.

This pair is easily digestible outside the glossy material compared to mainline drops; a simplified two-tone blocking scheme plays out across the upper, pinning pine green on the topmost overlays. However, this may offer an alternative to some still-coveted fare for a specific sect of sneakerheads. At least in our minds, this echoes the design of legendary Air Force 1s like the 2006 St. Patrick’s Day or the Mr. Cartoon, reviving the energy for a new crop of hobbyists.

Regardless of whether this fills a long-standing want or appeals to you without any historical ties, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Green Patent” lands in time for Spring 2025, exclusively in women’s sizing. Watch our Sneaker Release Dates page in the coming weeks for further pricing details.
