James Harden’s Zodiac Animal Appears On The adidas Harden Vol 9 “Year Of The Snake”

James Harden’s next adidas Basketball shoe doesn’t have a firm debut date yet, but if you’re one to follow context clues, the Three Stripes might have just started the clock with this newly surfaced colorway. Here we have the adidas Harden Vol 9 in “Year Of The Snake” makeup in honor of the upcoming Lunar New Year, which begins in late January 2025.

This marks just the third official look we’ve gotten at the new James Harden shoe thus far, preceded by “Core White” and “Cyber Metallic” colorways in mid-October. The “Year Of The Snake” edition amplifies focus on the model’s defining feature; a cage-like structure featuring abstract stripe cutouts. The outermost layer adopts purple snakeskin texture here, giving way to a black interior bootie one layer down. Eccentric as the cage may be, the insoles steal the show. The right features a Three Stripes logo and slithering red and gold snake, while the left features Harden’s logo alongside text reading the hooper’s birthday and birthplace. Harden was born in 1989, and as we’re led to assume, the snake is in fact his Chinese Zodiac animal.

Again; the adidas Harden Vol 9 “Year Of The Snake” doesn’t have an official release date yet, but is expected to arrive during the Spring 2025 shopping season. Like the preceding Harden Vol 8, the new model will retail for $160. Keep our Sneaker Release Dates page handy for all the latest updates over the coming weeks/months.
