Andrew Rizzo With 2024 coming to a close, sneaker publications like us are beginning to narrow down our top shoes of the year. The adidas Anthony Edwards 1 will undoubtably chart highly, as there hasn’t been a more culturally significant, debut signature basketball shoe in recent memory. Amidst great anticipation for Ant-Man’s follow-up effort, the Anthony Edwards 1 Low is approaching the end of the year with a “Blue Burst” colorway.
While we’ve yet to hear official word from adidas, this could very well be a Christmas-themed release. To quickly sum up recent events; we got hit with a holiday-looking sample in September before uncovering a different colorway with the same SKU a month later. This new image set aligns with the latter preview, suggesting the previous shoe might not see a release after all.
Here we have an “Blue Burst” shell against a black Primeknit interior, complete with a reflective toe box as we’ve seen across most Anthony Edwards 1 colorways to date. The shimmery, icy color is perfectly in-tune with winter, simultaneously aligning well with Minnesota Timberwolves jersey colors. Moreover, the triangular AE insignia that usually appears on the tongue is replaced by the primary logo for the “Anthony Edwards Five” adidas Basketball program.
