Takashi Murakami’s Louis Vuitton LV Trainers Are Available For Pre-Order

Updated December 2nd, 2024: Takashi Murakami’s Louis Vuitton LV Trainers can now be pre-ordered by those who have a Louis Vuitton Client Advisor here. The collection is set to launch publicly in 2025, with the LV Trainers carrying a retail price tag of $1,660.

Original article published November 27th, 2024:

Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton boast one of the most formidable collaborative relationships in fashion, first linking up in 2003 with a capsule that broke new ground when it comes to partnerships in the luxury space. The two parties are currently gearing up to release their first collection in years, and while colorful, nostalgia-evoking handbags are sure to be the talk of the high fashion crowd, our focus, of course, is on the footwear side. Takashi Murakami x LV Trainers are en route for 2025.

Official Louis Vuitton images reveal two colorways; one black and one white. Both looks feature the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram in bright colors, speaking directly to Murakami’s playful design language. Co-branding is kept to a minimum, with Louis Vuitton x Murakami text appearing on the insoles.

Notably, Murakami announced his own independent footwear brand Ohana Hatake earlier this year alongside an assortment of Full Bloom slides.

Your average LV Trainer goes for $1,280 at retail, so we can expect the Louis Vuitton x Murakami editions to exceed that mark be a decent margin. No release date has been set at the time of this writing, but again, the capsule is set to arrive sometime in 2025.
