New Balance Alters The Tongue On The 860v2 “Midnight”

Coming off collaborations with COMME des GARÇONS and Up There, the New Balance 860v2 is resuming its business on the mainline with a compelling “Midnight” colorway.

While the 860v2 fills the same role as the 1906R, 2002R, and resurgent New Balance 740 in the technical runner niche, it’s been far outpaced by those models when it comes to volume. Disregarding the aforementioned set of collabs, this “Midnight” colorway is the first new look we’ve seen surface since July.

The design begins with a dark grey mesh base, overlaid by different shades of blue leather across the toe, quarter, and heel sections. While the 860v2 traditionally sports a mesh tongue with New Balance text, the “Midnight” switches things up with grey leather and a large “NB” stamp.

The New Balance 860v2 “Midnight” has already begun surfacing at European retailers, but a stateside release date is still TBD. See official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse more upcoming New Balance shoes.
