adidas Coats The Aruku In “Preloved Brown”

Who expected to see the words “Gunna” and “supershoe” in the same sentence? They’ve been matched up on a number of occasions this year as the Three Stripes has handpicked the ATL multi-hyphenate as the face of the adidas Aruku, a model positioned as the brand’s true next big thing. As the silhouette goes from rumored product to tangible one, it’s marking another colorway in “Preloved Brown.”

The ultra-chunky sole on the adidas Aruku has widely been seen as a response to rising runner brands that have gained a foothold in the past few years (HOKA, On Running), but blending performance running and lifestyle footwear is far from a new development. What is rather novel is just how far adidas has taken the concept, producing a shoe that’s meant for everyday wear yet boasts the extreme stack height typically only seen in their adiZero “supershoes.” The clashing design principles between that composition and the palette is what makes this particular colorway so compelling, another strong entry in the model’s debut.

The adidas Aruku “Preloved Brown” is expected to hit adidas.com and retailers in short order, especially given the emergence of detailed images. Expect the typical $140 retail price upon arrival.
