Andrew Rizzo Comme des Garçons has a reputation for going all-black or all-white with their sneaker collaborations, but they’re also privy to break their own mold with welcome color-blasting from time to time. The Paris-based fashion label’s latest ASICS collaboration suits that distinction, with CDG recently touching down with three vibrant takes on an under-the-radar silhouette.
Available now are blue, orange, and green colorways of the ASICS GEL-Nunobiki; a model that typically retails for $100 but is here saddled with a whopping $360 (!!) retail price. Jarring as that may be, longtime followers of Comme des Garçons realize this is nothing new. Be it with Nike, ASICS, or otherwise, CDG’s sneaker collaborations usually cost well over a model’s usual MSRP, a trend that’s somewhat justified to due to CDG typically using more premium materials.
