The Apartment x New Balance 610 “Subway Series” Releases December 21st

The local rivalry comes to a helm.

The Apartment x New Balance 610 “Subway Series” Releases December 21st

The New York Mets dealt the Yankees quite a blow by inking former Bronx Bomber Juan Soto to a record-shattering contract this offseason, meaning tension between the two big apple fanbases is as high as it been since the 2000 World Series. While Citi Field and Yankee Stadium will see plenty of passionate face-offs when the regular season kicks off next April, Tokyo’s The Apartment is bringing the two squads to a helm early with a “Subway Series” New Balance 610 collaboration.

Those familiar with The Apartment know that they’ve long been a fan of NYC fashion aesthetics, with the streetwear imprint previously linking with some of the city’s favorite brands in Timberland and The North Face. The “Subway Series” New Balance 610 comes as The Apartment’s second collaboration with the Boston brand, arriving on the heels of two New Balance 576 colorways in late 2023.

The Apartment takes full advantage of the trail shoe’s elaborate paneling with a slew of different blue shades, also incorporating Mets-appropriate orange on the toe box and midsole. The Yankees are well represented by dark navy leather around the quarter, while the lighter blue tones towards the heel are more ambiguous in their allegiance. As if these weren’t NYC enough already, The Apartment also includes GORE-TEX material for a more durable, winter-worthy construction.

The Apartment x New Balance 610 “Subway Series” retails for $170 and will release December 21st via the-apartment.net. See detailed campaign images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview more upcoming New Balance collaborations.
