Modern consumers favor obscurity over familiarity, and Nike knows it. Recent years have seen the Beaverton brand bring back several past gems, with the most recent SNKRS Showcase highlighting the return of the women-led Air Superfly and Air Max Craze in 2025. As of right now, Nike’s most successful modern revival has arguably been the Air Max Sunder, a close sibling of the Craze and a staple of New York streetwear in the early 2000s. Following an applaudable run of original colorways and a collaboration of the year contender by Kids Of Immigrants, we’re starting to unpack additional fresh looks for Spring 2025.
This “Bold Berry” colorway is one of three GORE-TEX Sunders previewed earlier this summer, following in the wake of “Triple Black” and “Hyper Crimson” releases back in October. The top portion is comprised of “Bold Berry” GORE-TEX material for ample protection from the elements, while reflective TPR pods loom over a black mudguard. A black midsole makes for a seamless transition underfoot, where one of the most unique outsoles you’ll find on a sneaker polishes off the delivery.
The Air Max Sunder GORE-TEX is touted in extended women’s sizing and retails for $210; a notable $30 markup from non-GORE-TEX colorways. Our previous coverage noted a Holiday 2024 arrival, but it’s possible we’ll see a release occur early on during the Spring 2025 shopping season. See official images below if you’re mulling over adding a pair to your rotation.
