In 2019, Jordan Brand successfully lured Zion Williamson in what might’ve been the most competitive courtships of a superstar prospect since the coming of LeBron James. Heading into 2025, the Jumpman and Zion are now headed into a fourth overall signature shoe as official images of the model have appeared.
Frankly, expectations for Zion as an NBA star haven’t been met. Mired with injuries and conditioning issues season after season, the coming of Zion hasn’t had much of an impact in either the landscape of pro basketball or the world of signature shoes.
Zion’s Jordan shoes haven’t been able to crack the upper echelon of sig models due to the aforementioned lackluster production and his generally quiet and uncharismatic demeanor, but we can’t ignore the fact that the aesthetic of the shoes don’t match his game. Zion’s bigger, buffer build and physical play don’t align with the point guard styling of the low-cut model, which is why the Zion 4 might experience the same humdrum existence as the current Zion 3.
Considering there hasn’t been a hit Jordan Zion model yet, it’s possible that the former Duke star could follow in the footsteps of current brand-mate Trae Young and find a different brand once his current deal is done in 2026.
Regardless, a release of the Jordan Zion 4 is expected to arrive during first quarter of 2025, so stay tuned for updates on our Jordan Release Dates page.
