Following the release of Lil Yachty’s inaugural Nike Air Force 1 collaboration in 2024, we’re continuing to learn more about the Atlanta rapper’s next chapter with the Swoosh. We spilled ink on a “Croc Skin” Air Force 1 just a few weeks ago, and now according to new information posted by sneakermarket.ro, it appears Yachty’s BAPE-inspired AF1 will see a public release.
The shoe first made rounds online in April 2024 around the same time Yachty was out performing at Coachella, although it was largely thought to be a friends and family pair upon surfacing. Aesthetically speaking, Lil Boat actualizes his love for 2000s streetwear with a clear Bapesta vibe, calling in a full patent leather upper and bright “Lucky Green/Mystic Red/University Gold” palette.
In comparison to Yachty’s first “Concrete Boys” Air Force 1, which received its fair share of criticism to its fairly plain design, this BAPE-esque pair is decidedly more aligned with Yachty’s fashion background and personality as a whole. Of course, there’s lots of irony in Nike releasing a BAPE-inspired Air Force 1 given the two brands’ copyright disputes regarding the silhouette over the past two decades.
Solid release information for the upcoming Yachty Air Force 1 is scant at this early stage, but as mentioned, sneakermarket.ro reports a Summer 2025 arrival. Stick with us for all the latest updates, including a retail price and store list over the coming months.
