Most wouldn’t have thought that the Nike Air Max 2013 would become one of the sturdiest bring-back silhouettes in recent Swoosh history, but a Stussy collaboration that whetted consumer palettes and success for similarly aged models like the Vomero 5 have made the shoe a pretty frequent sight. As we unbelievably enter the fourth year of the Air Max 2013 retro, the shoe is taking on a capsaicin-coated “University Red” colorway.
Hi-vis has always been a common touch in the Air Max line, but the green-to-red gradient that takes over the full-length Air unit underfoot brings some “Chili Pepper” spice to this nocturnal edition. Similarly shaded hits on the “Air Max” branding on the heel counter and the Swoosh mirror that underfoot tonality, rounding out with a midfoot shank that shares the same ombre treatment.
Our two most recent articles on the model saw those colorways emerged on Nike.com just days after- so you likely won’t have to wait very long for the Air Max 2013 “Black/University Red” is on tap for the Spring 2025 schedule, commanding its typical $170 retail price upon arrival.
