Another Look At The Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder “Diffused Blue”

Updated April 23rd, 2025: The Kids Of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder “Diffused Blue” has appeared once more directly on the feet of brand co-founder Daniel Buezo. As of this update, a firm release date hasn’t been revealed.

Kid Of Immigrants Nike Sunder Diffused Blue

After vaulting into the “sneaker of the year” conversation across the industry in the closing months of 2024, KoI is seeking to catch lightning in a bottle once again. The Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder story is set to receive a third chapter this Summer, with leaked images of an unreleased sample depicting a possible “Diffused Blue” makeup of the already-iconic retooling.

The globe gridlines, easily the most distinctive feature from the already-released pairs, stick around for this new colorway. Though previously unseen by the public, this “Diffused Blue” Air Max Sunder was created as a friends & family exclusive for the Kids of Immigrants’ inner circle, one of the four colorways Daniel Buezo and Weleh Dennis agonized between when deciding which shoes would eventually make it to the market.

On top of strategically reversing course, this “Diffused Blue” Kids of Immigrants Air Max Sunder also inverts the layout of the previous pairs. A blue ombre takes over the grid lines rather than the foundation, here getting additional support from a similarly shaded suede toe-cap. The steely grey textile base and jet black foundation contrast nicely with the flares of color with the “Sundial” mini Swoosh towards the heel and the “Vivid Grape” rear pull tab.

We’ll need to wait to confirm whether some of the finer details from the original pack persist with this third Air Max Sunder, but it is safe to say that the Kids of Immigrants narrative touch will be intact regardless of how they apply it.
