Andrew Rizzo The New Balance 9060 is a hit, especially when it surfaces in black. Previous all-black styles from 2023 and 2024 sold out quickly and now command a slight premium on third party sites, which says a lot given the demise of the resale market in recent years. There’s a pretty sizable chunk of sneakerheads that only wear black shoes, and moreover, service workers are always looking for footwear that’s both uniform-appropriate and stylish at the same time. This upcoming black leather option is perfect for both.
All of the upper paneling is cut from black leather, save only for brief instances of nubuck suede on the forefoot underlays and backtab. The stability runner-inspired midsole works in some grey accents along the bottom portion, and the insoles tip off some potential Lunar New Year significance through an encircled New Balance logo.
These check off a lot of boxes; trending model, easy to clean, and versatile. With that being said, it’s likely they’ll move quickly whenever the Boston brand unleashes them.
