“Mink Brown” Coats A Rare Earthy Nike Air Max Plus

Luxe aesthetics for this women's pair.

“Mink Brown” Coats A Rare Earthy Nike Air Max Plus

It may not be fully conscious, but we expect certain colors from certain shoes; an Air Force 1 is synonymous with “Triple White” or “Triple Black,” anything New Balance can reasonably be expected to carry some grey. On the opposite end is the Air Max Plus, typically leaning towards vibrant looks that run off of iconic looks like “Sunset” or “Hyper Blue.” It’s that exact tendency that makes the Nike Air Max Plus “Mink Brown” so surprising, dropping in a curveball for the Spring season.

Neutral brown is applied in heavy doses throughout this shoe, beginning with the “Mink Brown” base layer before jumping to off-white “Sail” jutting through the midsole and draping the midsole entirely. While the earthy vibes are overwhelming in general, the bronze TPU waves that stripe across the shoes serve as a link to mainline Air Max Plus drops, at least chipping in some metallic flair in a secondary role. Even if autumn is far off, the more refined palette and ever-stylish silhouette should make for an easily-worn pair all year round.

Look for the Nike Air Max Plus “Mink Brown” in the coming weeks on Nike.com and via partnering retailers. This is confirmed to be a women’s exclusive release. Retail is set at $180.
